OMG OMG OMG OMG ..... I have spent the last few hours looking at these Gilmer maps of my area. A lot of the names of places have changed. But OMG I live 2 houses away from Confederate entrenchments from the battle of June 1864.. I knew I lived close to civil war areas but I had no idea I was this close... and here I been hunting all over town for good places to detect... GET WARM OUTSIDE NOW PLEASE.. I do not want to wait till Thursday.. ohh this is going to be fun.. I don't even need to pack my gear.. and if I get hungry or thirsty on this hunt I will just walk back a couple of houses to my own place..

My yard is really really weird on the finds. and my house is only 15 years old .. was vacant before that. my back yard is close to 115 feet deep.. 15 feet of grass then a steep 6 foot drop off and another 100 feet of woods with a creek in it ... I have found nothing in the woods but an old bottle and metal lid, but my 15 feet of grass is full of spent lead bullets (I have not found any civil war bullets yet.. but I kind of gave up looking after about 20 or 30 bullets) Hmmmm .. can you say new video idea.. Its a really strange location.. Only thing I could think of was someone.. er lots of people were using my 6 foot drop off as a back stop at a target range of some kind (due to the massive variety).

See the BOLD DARK lines around 1864, those are the civil war entrenchments around my area for 1864. Then see the red dot? That is my house. Just 2 houses away OMG OMG OMG OMG ..
