So tonight I was like hey mom do you have any old coins? After 25 years of never asking because I didn't think to, she said "Of course I have a bag of them". So I went in the locked file cabinet and was shocked. Her fathers brother was a coin collector.

All of the pennies are wheat pennies from 1936 and up, a stack of perfect half dollars some look never used, and a beautiful 1943 half penny in great shape. What a day to remember!

just so you know, the full inscription on the english coin (in latin) is:
GEORGIUS VI (SIXTUS) D[EI] : G[RATIA] : BR[ITTANORUM] : OMN[IUM] : REX F[IDEI] : D[EFENSOR] : IND[IAE] : IMP[ERATOR]

which in english is: "george the sixth, by the grace of god king of all the britons, defender of the faith (a title originally conferred on henry viii by the pope before their little tiff), emperor of india."
