yup, you caught us, that is what everybody is doing. We all have bootleg machines with no warranty and cheap parts and are finding the greatest of treasures. We are saying we have expensive machines as a status symbol. You uncovered the conspiracy, I guess we can all go home now.

Why buy a cheapo bootleg? Was it built using new electronics or crap salvaged from radios and TVs. Was it built with quality control or by some guy slapping solder all over the place? No thanks!

Nope, I use Fisher and Whites. Occasionally, I'll try out my son's Bounty Hunter. I have picked up el cheapo knockoffs before at garage sales, just to see if they can do anything. there is a really good reason you can buy these things all day long for 5 bucks at garage sales. One of them wouldn't even pick up a quarter at 4 inches!!!!! I kid you not.

Sure they are if you just have too much money and need to get rid of a few dollars or you are in need of an expensive door stop.

Please tell me you just enjoy making these posts to see what kind of reaction you get and not because you are serious?

I don't know if they are any good or not.

Feel free to send all your Bootleg Detectors to me.

And I will test them for you.
