First hunt of the harvest saw me and my detecting partner right alongside one of the mane Roman roads in Britain Deere Street, as you can imagine expectations were high and we were going to be walking of the field with bags of roman coins, nothing could have been further from the truth after four hours of detecting nether of us had so much of any type of coin let alone a Roman one, I wont bore you with the details just show you a few things I did find not much I'm afraid :-[

I say, great finds nonetheless!

Those items are pretty cool. Looks like a good site.

Very cool! Do you have any idea what that wheel looking item is? That symbol was used in ancient times (Romano-Celtic) as well as for modern day gypsies. I think the # of spokes determines what symbol it was & who used it.

Hi Cruisin welcome to T NET........ as you can see from the picture of the lead weight the lead has gone white this takes place over a long period of time so it probably dates from at least medieval period, as for it's use I can only guess at some type trading weight even though it's the smallest one I have seen , heres one of the more common trade weights TK 8)

Nice weight, maybe chunky token.

I like the Cycle Badge - plough missed that one :)

I find very little near main Roman Roads. Try some way off it, at the other end of the field or on the higher ground. They are there, go get them.

Being from California I've never seen trade weights before. I'm going to research this a little - I love to learn about new things.....

Your finds are fantastic. Thanks for sharing such cool pieces of history with us!
