My sister lives across the street from an old 1800s two story home that is now a museum that also holds weddings and other events. They were restoring parts of the house and had thrown garbage out by the road for trash pickup. She was walking her dogs and looked into one of the boxes and saw a bag full of old skeleton keys of all sizes. I would say 50 or more. Some had markings. One said N.Y. TRAIN. She let me pick out a few. 20200201_194402.webp

Nice!!! Congrats!!!!

Great find! Congrats

I could never keep old keys in stock at the antique mall. If people didn't buy them, they stole them. In such demand had to keep clock keys behind the counter to keep safe. Score.

Neat! I see them re-purposed into necklaces and sold on etsy sometimes.

I find goodies in the trash irresistible Have pulled some great things myself. Congrats

Now that box was a great find, (and you have a nice sister).
