Yesterday myself and my friends son Morgan went for a day of tubing and relic hunting on the river. We mainly focused on the areas around the three original bridges. My metal detector was picking up targets all over the place. Almost all of the really great signals turned out to be aluminum beer cans. I decided to give up on the MD and just do a visual search using our masks and snorkels. We did find so much junk and many many tires, a couple of whole cars and various oddities. Of everything we found, we found more golf balls than anything, approximately 1-200, plus a few sunglasses, somebody's car keys, a watch, and lots and lots of pieces of broken porcelain and stoneware dating back to earlier times. I did find a few shards of really really old glass that was very thick and an old what appears to be a wooden bridge spike found below the oldest bridge. I also found another ring.

Well done sir!

A couple of cars? Real full size ones? How deep is this river? Looks like a lot of fun.

Full size half buried in the muck and stones. Currently the depth of the river is only about three or 4 feet in most places and only inches in others. Occasionally you will find a pocket of deeper water but it's only maybe 6 to 8 feet at the deepest and those are few and far between. And yes It was a lot of fun.

Most cars found underwater here have been stolen or have bodies inside. Did you ask the police if they know about them?

There are other old cars lining parts of the embankment at various points along the river.

I did take the ring to my friends coin shop and he saw that the ring is Tungsten Steel but that the diamond is real. He has a Diamond tester.
Total value=$20.
To me= priceless treasure!

Yes, they are putting worthless stones in worthless rings now! However, if you are a buyer, no diamond is worthless!! When you find as many as I do, you will find out that most are worthless. No jewelry store will buy them.
