Can anyone direct me to an online source for dating wrecks by the ship fasteners? I found a coin (in poor condition) next to a wreck with all wood pegs and was curious as to the approximate timeframe of wood pegs versus bronze spikes versus iron spikes.

As far as a quick guide, try doing an image search on google to see if you can find any similar to yours, then click on the image to see what they say about it. Another word you may want to use in your search is "Trunnel".
