Played a little hooky today, and went back to to spot where I dug a war nickel yesterday. Couldn't squeeze a silver from there but got a couple more wheats, '13, '40, '46 and a '41 Jeff. With 45 mins left to hunt I headed for the Morgan field in hopes of a Rosie. So far the only silver from this spot besides the '21 Morgan has been 4 Rosie's. Brett and I each scored a couple. I think it was my last dime there, where I walked out and turned on my machine and hit it on the first swing. We'll it happened again today just 5' from my car. Turned it on, did my air and ground balancing and whabam! Deep dime..
I called Brett and left a message that I was kinda ticked that this dime came so quick since I pounded this place for a hour, just a week ago, trying for my first Trifecta.
I was assuming it was just another Rosie all the way home, but was surprised to see "One Dime"
when I broke the clod apart.

Thanks for looking!

Sweet!! Ya just never know. . .

(The next time you find one like that, you should have a contest for guessing the
type & date. . . and the winner would get a. . . ah. . . how about an 8 Reale? ;D)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! That's awexome! Nice Barber and a great date too! So close to the jackpot. I wish I could be out there digging with ya... it's been so stressful at work.

What willpower!! Leaving it in the clod until you got home?!!

I'm glad you got out today - it was too wet here!

Congrats on the great find, John!!!

It's always a real treat when you uncover a coin and see that it's a Barber!

That's a great idea! I could post one on Todays finds and let it run for a week. Winner gets whats in the
clod. But what if it turned out to be a '16D Merc? :o :BangHead: :laughing7:

Heh,,, the willpower was sticking out the day in the cold rain. I spent half my time heading for the shelter and cursing Mother Nature. Of course on the way home, the sun came out and she got back at me...

I SURE WOULD NOT WAIT TILL I GOT HOME TO SEE WHAT SILVER COIN WAS IN THAT CLOD OF DIRT. GREAT FIND , WTG!!!

I thought I responded to this post...

Mark, you've done it again, you pirate. That's a real nice Barber dime you've got there, especially dressed in mud like that. I agree with 007, though...I wouldn't have to patience to leave it in the clod until I got home!
