I was out yesterday for a couple hours. We had nice weather and no more frozen ground. :hello2: But unfortuately the finds were not that good. We can choose only from a few fields this time of the year so i have to live with what i get. When popping a plug i saw a yellow disc and my heart began to race till i had the coin in my hand. Italian 20 Lira 1957. 100 years to young..... not the real thing any more.... Eyeballed a nice gem but couln't find the brooch. Coins are all 19th century, prussian and french exept the "golden" Lira.
So here we go with the pics!

Thanks! That is a thing we have to live with in central europe. Our area was in the middle of the front line from sep. 44 to feb. 45. We have so much iron and other fragments from shells and bombs....sometimes i have a 10to1 ratio from brass fragments to coins.

Excellent eye ball save :headbang:

Thanks Mike! It's not that bad. We had much rain after plowing. Artefacs can be clearly seen on the surface. I found a neolithic flint blade, lots of roman shards on the last hunts. This time the gem, shards too, a marble and one of the coins laying neatly on top. If You look close on the pic with the gem You can see small shards too. The fields are red from roman pottery...

Very nice ! I had some friends find 100 romans coins not far from Laundstule on the hill. They said hogs had torn up the soil and exposed the coins. I went there later but did not dig any on that hunt. I believe I was on the wrong side of the hill.

I like when something like that happens. A buddy found coins pushed up by a mole... But it's rare. Too bad that You could not locate the place with the hoard. Some coins will be left for sure!

A couple of well spent hours... nice hunting.

Nice eyes only :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

Keep up the good work :icon_thumright:
