I would love to go on a ghost tour... having never done that.

I think all photo orbs are dust particles or insects being lit by the flash.

I believe in ghostly things, but not orbs.

Kool Pics. I assume those are the New Orleans Ghost Tours. I would love to go on those, just to see what they are all about. Thanx for the photos.

The ghost tours are in Australia. I am part of a paranormal group. I dont think they are dust and the other members when using there camera also got the orbs. thanks for your opinions

Kool, I was going to join a Mobile, AL group but chumped out in the end. Sounded like I was going to have to pay my way in the beginning and could not afford it after Hurricane Katrina. Just wanted a Surveillance job, casino Surveillance is what I do.

Dust, not Dust- what ever- Nice pics!

Though there is not explanation what "Orbs" actually are, it has been concluded that they do occur in areas presumed to have ghostly apparitions. You have seem to found quite a cache of ghosts in your "ghost tour". Thanks!

"orbs" oy!

The schmootz doesn't have to be directly on the lens. It can be any small particle, out of focus in front of the lens. Be it dew or dust.

"Orbs" are out of focus particles in front of the lens or moisture/dust/debris on the lens(also out of focus).

Focal plane. Depth of field. F Stop. Shutter Speed. All good words lost on the digital camera generation. :'(

Oh no!!! attack of the orbs!!! LOL... just a little dust.

Most camera lenses are made up of multiple ground elements of optical glass.

Any stray light entering the lense at angles not direct from the primary light source will refract & reflect around inside the lense housing and cause the orb effect - because often as stated at any specific element within the lense group they are necessarily "out of the focal plane of the lense" so not a distinct pin prick of light but an out of focus orb of light when rendered on film or in digital media.

All that's required to believe in "ghostly orbs" is to not understand how glass camera lens elements are made and assembled.

Then again - maybe the ghosts are inside the lens.

Just because Orbs are explainable does NOT mean that discarnate entities / Ghosts do not exist IMHO.

An interesting one to google might be the famous Aussie "min min" lights for a orb like phenomenon not involving camera lens elements and refracted / reflected light for example.

I've always fancied the couple of orbs God wisely placed on each woman's chest, as it happens - they to me have remained wondrous all of my life! :laughing7:

Post as many pics of those orbs as you wish - you'll have my undivided attention.....ghostly or not!.

Cheers
