This item looks like its silver, but is not marked, it weighs 10.1 grams, diameter is 28mm. Any information would be appreciated, especially country. Ok, I resized now, thanks..

The writing is definitely Japanese, but I can't yet find the coin.
Almost all Jappanese coins from 1955 on have English numerals
on them, so it must be prior to 1955.

The reverse resembles a Chinese medal; from the Korean War. Issued to Chinese and North Korean troops who qualified, similar to this:

As as La Beep pointed out the number "3"--so ended the Korean War in 1953.

It could have been or may still be Japanese. The writing is basically the same and the numbers are the same. But with the similarities with the other medal I tend to lean Chinese.
