The writing is definitely Japanese, but I can't yet find the coin.
Almost all Jappanese coins from 1955 on have English numerals
on them, so it must be prior to 1955.

I think NOT Japanese. No character to represent the imperial date.

Chinese, I think.

It could have been or may still be Japanese. The writing is basically the same and the numbers are the same. But with the similarities with the other medal I tend to lean Chinese.
