Ornate thing (silver?)

Thought it was crumpled aluminum at first but decided to wash it off when I saw the ladies face. It’s tarnished since I dug it leaving me to believe its silver. It only looking broken in one spot on the side so I don’t think it’s a lid. Opinions welcome.

In my opinion looks possibly art noveau era.

If you don't study it too closely, it sort of looks like the Panera Bread logo.
(Which is an awful logo design, in my opinion!)
I guess it's supposed to be a woman embracing her loaf of bread as if it were her offspring?
