Here are my finds for the day:

Clockwise from the bottom:

Bayonet Scabbard Tip
69 Caliber Minie Ball
Large Caliber Musket Ball Bullet - Chewed
36 caliber Savage Army Revolver Bullet
Large Caliber Musket Ball Bullet & Shot
Melted Lead
TOP - Steele & Johnson Button Back

The woods were VERY kind to me as the first thing I dug there was the scabbard tip at about 6 inches! I also found the Savage and the 69 Caliber Minie in the woods! They were all strong nice clear signals on the Explorer ;D The other finds all came from around the cedar trees. It appeared that those areas had not been disturbed over the years. Unfortunalely I ran out of steam before I could hit the south pasture!

Thanks to JD & Steve for putting this hunt together and I am looking forward to the next one! It was great meeting all of the new friends there and I am SURE we will be getting together for MANY future HUNTS!!

A special thanks to Warsawdaddy for sponsoring the nice TV set we won! Austin has it in his room and won't come out any more! You might have to take it back ;) Also whoever donated the silver dollar Austin is VERY proud of it and shows it off to everyone that will take a look!

And of course I want to especially thank Dave and Lorraine for allowing us to search this great site!

Now there are some finds I didn't get to see. That scabbard tip is a great find, even has the filial still. Next hunt, I am going to have to make sure I have the time to head up the night before. Sounds like everyone had a great time.

I didn't see those either. Good display of relics. WTG!!

I remember seeing that tip! :o Awesome find's Keith! And it was great to meet ya! :)

And while it's on my mind....is it OK to clean off the dirt on the bullets? Will the white go away if I do? I've never washed any of my other bullets, so I don't know.

You did good! Congrats!

Nana ;)

Nice finds and thanks for sharing the experience! HH, Mike

Thanks everyone! I am not a relic hunter but I sure enjoyed it and may convert from coin hunting :o ;D It was great to meet everyone and swap stories. Sounds like we will be visiting Missouri more in the future! They sure have some great places to detect out their way! I'm sure Tennessee would be a great place to detect as well. Anybody have and good ideas for a Tennessee hunt later this fall or early next year?

that looks like it gonna be a fun hunt!!! i wish i could go!! hh all jd
