Over the years my Brother & I have found many fantastic ! RailRoad relics and just wanted to share a few.

#1- Florence & Cripple Creek RR Co , cuff button. Found while we were diggin' a privy, hunting bottles. :headbang:
#2- Colorado Springs & Cripple Creek District RY,switch lock. the chain of this lock, was actually sticking out of the ground, not even sure why I grabbed at it ,but this lock was at the other end :headbang:
#3- Colorado & South East RY ,stamped switch lock & matching key. Found hanging on a nail in an old shed
#4-Face plate to a Florence & Cripple Creek switch lock, found while detecting and old cabin site high up on the mountain. There are many, many, theories on how this got where it was,& why it was shot,& hit with an axe or chisel. What do you think ??

Hope you Enjoy. PPC

Cool locks! Have you done any research to find out if there were any train or station robberies in the area that might be the same time frame as your lock? If so I'd want to go back to that spot!

Yes there were a couple of robberies in the time frame of the lock, but it is part of a switch lock, did they or would they use a switch lock on a strongbox ?????

could very well have been, there's not much difference between those old locks so who knows? It'd still be worth looking into further i think.

Always worth looking into more, someday will get back to the site & try to see whats left :icon_thumleft:

Simply amazing.
The one baggage claim that I dug, I ended up auctioning, mainly because I knew railroad collectors
would appreciate it more than I would.
At the time, anyway.
Now I'm really getting into anything Colorado related.
Killer stuff you've been digging.
Carl

Nice date nail !! Havent found any of those

A goal of mine is to find a piece marked by the company who owned the railroad where I hunt. Haven't found anything yet. Are these your best finds because they are marked? Well done!
