Out & about yesterday...1890 Sweden coin to view fvor those interested in old coins

Hi:hello:

Weather is improving here on the CT shoreline.

Met and spoke with a friend at the beach...nice to see you again, Don ...good luck out there.

Not much to "crow about" in yesterday's hunt..just clads, but also an old Sweden coin dated 1890; dry sand .

I love finding old coins from anywhere in the world.

Found a pic of the same coin in excellent condition, so I added the pic to this post.

Here are some pics and also a link to info ..scroll down on link to see additional info if so desired.

Thanks for looking

That's neat! You always find the neatest stuff.

Nice coin Lorraine! I love old coins and tokens myself!

Any coin from the 1800 's is a pretty cool find nice going

Very nice. Coin find.

Thanks for sharing Lorraine. You always have interesting finds. I really enjoy your threads.

Nice find Lorraine...again!

Nice find! Coin is in great shape for being on the beach and with a readable date! Wow!

Way to go Lorraine. I met your new Maryland buddy yesterday. That's what is great about this hobby. Even if you don't find treasures, there always some unusual piece of history that makes it enjoyable, plus the great people we meet.... My brother Don excluded :laughing9:.

Interesting coin Lorraine! Congrats!

Nice find Loraine. I agree, I too love finding coins from around the world and the older the better.

Really! A Swedish coin! That is so neat. How did they manage to get in your area?

Don't know, Sonny, but would love to know.

Research tells me that Swedish immigration to the USA reached it peak between 1870-1900 ; the immigrants settled in the Midwest area for farming, and towards the East in Massachusetts for industrial jobs.

Very cool, nice find!!

You never know what you will find...125 year old coin...cool.

Lorraine,

Great bumping in to you the other day. Glad to see the coin turned out to be really interesting. Hope it cleans up well. See you on the beach and good luck in Cape Cod

Always great to find any coin from the 1800's. Great find!

Good find, in sweden i hate one thing.
it is finding the modern "öre" coins but thats because i find alot of them from 1950's->2010 and they stopped being a currency so i can't do much with them :D
Older coins like that are very cool to find.
That coin must have traveled very far.
Who knows next time u maybe find some old One Crowns (one krona) in silver
