I have a problem with my MD. Whenever I turn it on, it *usually* works fine for a couple seconds, and then the volume level gradually drops, until the detector turns off. I don't think the battery is the problem, because when I licked it, it jolted my toungue pretty good :), but I am going to try changing them (if I have any 9 volts) But does anyone know what it might be?
The metal detector is a bounty hunter quick draw II.

Thanks,
Guad

A 9 volt will still give you a pretty good jolt, even if it stops operating the machine.
I would try a new battery, that sounds exactly like your problem...

Doesn't your machine use two 9 volts? I could be wrong, the only BH I used was a Sharpshooter 2.

It is very likely the battery, metal detectors need a strong one to run properly, and just because a batter has juice left doesn't mean it has enough to properly run the drain of a metal detector.

Had to get batteries from a friend, and that fixed it!
Thx!
