Out today at the junction

My brother and I got out today for a little while this morning.Got permission to look around this old cafe and gas station at Elwood junction.
Back in the 60's and early 70's this place was so busy on Friday and Saturday nights that you couldn't get into the parking lot.I grew up just down the road from this place.
They changed the highway and bypassed the old cafe and station and they closed some time in the mid 70's.
It was a hell of a work out to get thru those weeds.I had fun though.I found a 194? merc and a couple of wheats.The merc is in bad shape but I'll take it.My brother found a couple of wheats and some clad.Glad I got out and I hope everyone else did too.Take care.

Congratulations on the merc and wheaties. I have to agree with others looks like a bit of grass to move and perhaps some other great finds. I too have quite a few spots that are in need of cutting. LoL its a tough decision to decide on which one to use the gas and energy to cut.

Congratulations on the Merc. That place looks cool. Take a piece of plywood and lay it on the tall grass and you can detect all the tall grassy areas.

I hunted a site today that had knee high weeds. Those places are difficult to hunt, but most of the time worth it! Take the mower and go back!!!! Congrats on your finds!!!
