My brother and I got out today for a little while this morning.Got permission to look around this old cafe and gas station at Elwood junction.
Back in the 60's and early 70's this place was so busy on Friday and Saturday nights that you couldn't get into the parking lot.I grew up just down the road from this place.
They changed the highway and bypassed the old cafe and station and they closed some time in the mid 70's.
It was a hell of a work out to get thru those weeds.I had fun though.I found a 194? merc and a couple of wheats. The merc is in bad shape but I'll take it.My brother found a couple of wheats and some clad.Glad I got out and I hope everyone else did too.Take care.
