Congrats on some nice finds! I went out today with my dad and I got 7 wheaties and an 1899 indian head penny, no silver :-( I was still a successful hunt though! It helped to prove there are still lots of things to find at a place we thought might be drying up.

The 'cross' image is the Saint Benedict Medal, a Catholic sacramental medal containing symbols and text related to the life of Saint Benedict of Nursia. In use since at least the seventeenth century, it is used to ward off spiritual and physical dangers, especially those related to witchcraft, poison, and temptation. On the side of the 'cross' you are showing contains the letters C S S M L - N D S M D, initials words meaning "May the holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my overlord!").Surrounding the back of the medal are the letters V R S N S M V - S M Q L I V B, that signify "Begone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself!") and finally, located at the top is the word PAX which means "peace". (more Wiki)

DP Bob found some of those Gus pig tokens at a private yard hunt in '08, and I picked one up at a park in Chicago the same year. Did a little search and came up with this matchbook that I think shows Gus and says "Steer for Gus" He reminds me of Dirtfish Dave a little.
