No idea what this is. It's about 4.75" at its longest points by about 3" wide, maybe 3/8" thick with two protrusions from the back. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

Maybe a plaque to describe something? Like how they put markers on benches or on pipes? It's in pretty rough shape. There are no marks at all on the side opposite the protrusions?

to me it looks like it was torched out of a larger piece of iron and discarded.the edges look like rough cut to me.also the thickness indicates perhaps iron pipe.cut for a seat seal?a simple guess
