"Ovate Knife" 1000's of Years Old.....Any Better ID Possible?

A beginning collector asked me to identify this artifact he recently purchased. No other info available. Best I can do is "Ovate Knife" or 'Blade'.....and "thousands of years" old.
It does not have the rounded base of an Adena; looks too wide for a Nodena; the two worked, pointed ends don't seem to match up with any typology I can find.

I have not seen this piece in person - can anyone give me a better ID to pass on to this new enthusiast? Thanks!

Does not look like Onondaga Chert to me, but not enough detail to be sure. I’m thinking it’s not local Onondaga.

I'm now convinced it is not NYS Onondaga chert.

Usually called "early ovoid knife" and they are usually paleo. Gary
