As long as there is no metallic content your fine. People routinely use bedliner on coils in leu of a cover.

My main spot I hit is murky water. I pinpoint my target, slide my foot up behind the coil, move my coil and place my scoop on top of my foot. I am about 3 inches behind the target give or take. Works great for me.

I use that method too but it would be nice to see the coil.

Another option is to put duck tape on the top of the coil. Walmart has several fluorescent colors that work well. I use the Excal bright yellow.

I myself have used plasti dip with good results.

It comes in bright fluorescent colors. Its pricey and for durability I would recommend using uncut out of the can.
The aerosol is much to thin. I used about 10 coats very durable.

If you're using a coil cover make sure you're able to remove it from time to time to get the sand out.

Good Luck Steve! In time you will be hunting and digging with your eyes closed!
