Panning for silver?

Has anyone ever panned for silver? How is it compared to gold? Just wondering if I should pan old tailings.

Silver is not worth a whole lot so unless you have a motherlode of silver nuggets i wouldnt waste my time...go for the gold its much more valuable

Yep, you'll get about $2 worth of Silver in your pan if your lucky. Gold, on the other hand, can return up to $600 worth or more if you hit a nice spot. Big difference.
