Did some night hunting after work on Wednesday with Gimmie the Loot. Got out for about 2 1/2 hours. The soil where I was hunting was more rocky and it is a low area so I don't think it drains very well. There were alot of roots also from the surrounding trees. I started getting some wheaties right away. Usually the wheaties in this park come out nice and clean but the ones in this area were pretty toasted and corroded. I then got a dime that came out completely black and crusty. Thought it was clad at first but turned out to be a Barber. Wheaties kept coming and then I got a Merc before I left that was also black and crusty.
Got home and started rinsing the wheaties off. Most of them were pretty toasted. Started looking at the dates and had to double take when I found a 1914D!! It is in bad shape but has a decent date and mint mark left on it. Looks better then what my scans show. The back of it is pretty bad also because it had another wheatie stuck to is. Totals were a 1908 Barber dime, 1927 Merc and 20 wheaties.
