Well the ploughed farm land season, is all but over. Not a bad season all in all, over one hundred hammered silvers, and some nice artifacts. So now, what to do, put the machine away for months and take up golf ?. Nah, don't think so, it's off to the local parks and woods. Of course hammered are unlikely to turn up, but dig a lot you certainly will. This is this afternoons haul, from a local park. Best find a 1942 silver two shillings. Robert.

I know its tough when the season winds down, as its doing here as well. I like to spend the summer at some popular swimming spots and get out in shoulder-deep water and search for the gold. Nothing like cut silver, but it's a really fun way to pass the summer. And fall will be back before you know it.

Awesome finds! Thanks for the pics!

I look forward to growth season up here. I leave the deep woods full of thorns and briar patches, heal, and then head for permissions with nice groomed grounds.

Nice shilling. Still hoping to find any British Silver. Way to go in the park

True Bill, it's a great way to spend a couple of hours in the sunshine. Who knows there's still the chance of something nice.

Cheers Scrappy, the two shilling (Florin) is in great condition. It's 50% silver, I've cleaned it up to a nice shine. I would never clean hammered silver this way. With coins such as this, it's fine.
