Welcome to the forum and congrats on your find, looks like it could be part of old ship?

did you drag it off the beach?

Interesting, to say the least...I would like to see a few more pics, maybe get a better idea of what we're looking at...welcome to Tnet..Ddf

I wasn't able to. It weighed a good 150 pounds.

Ah...bummer. I was interested in seeing if it was actually off of some old schooner, man-o-war...etc.. but congrats on a very unique piece...Ddf

I’d like to see a few more pics. The wooden pegs look to be trunnells, used to fasten ships’ timbers. The ones I’ve seen weren’t as close together as those and it looks as though that timber has been bisected. It might be part of the keel or keelson, or the cutwater or stern post, given the size. That area opposite where you’re kneeling almost looks like it’s rabbeted for a piece to fit in. I’m sure someone with more expertise than I have will chime in. Wicked cool find.
