Any ideas on what the bent thingy could have went to? It has grooves on the lower in the round part. And possibly the age of the silverware?

Those grooves in the brass thing look like threads. Is it hollow? Looks like the tip of a torch.

The entire piece isn’t hollow. But yeah the bottom part was threaded onto something or could have been.

Looks like a spout for an oil cup with the end pinched off?

If you can find the Hallmark it will help with the age but my guess is 1800s.

The other pc is a lightning rod.

Oil can spout. The type where you push on the bottom of the can, like those cricket toys.

The flatware handle is likely a spoon and also likely coin silver (nominal .900 fine). It's marked for Johnson & Godley. Samuel Johnson and Richard Godley were in partnership in Albany, NY between 1842-1849.

The marks in full would have been these:

I agree with ironhorse, lightning rod. Nice piece of silver too, but i don't recognize the hallmark. Any hunt with silver is a good one though
