Hello again,

So my mom bought a house several years back, and some items were left in the garage by the previous owner. I know that the owner collected old muscle cars and old cars and trucks in general. I was hoping you guys could help me identify these pieces. I have had no luck trying to decipher what they are. They are pretty heavy. I can provide more details if necessary.

Automatic transmission output shafts. Possibly a Turbo Hydramatic 350, a popular GM transmission back in the day
edit- hmm, not the TH350.

That's what it is.....an automatic transmission output shaft. It doesn't necessarily have to be from a muscle car. It could be off just about any model in that make. It's not a Mopar Torqueflite, but other than that, I'm not sure myself which brand it is. The item mounted in the middle of the shaft is the governor. It helps determine shift points based on the RPM of the output shaft.

Do you think these have any value? or just scrap?

Unless they have some special heavy duty aspect to them, it's unlikely they have any particular value but I'd first try to find out exactly what they fit. Go to a local transmission shop and see if somebody there can recognize them. Can you see any logos or part numbers on them?
