About a week ago they finally broke ground at my favorite park to build a small amphitheater. It wasn’t a big area and they dumped two feet of sand in the footing of where the building will be. However, I detected what I could and walked way with a walking liberty half and two Washington quarters. Other finds from the past two weeks.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Squirrel, some very nice finds, definitely a productive hunt. A Standing Liberty half is always great find. I really like the souvenir Louisiana Purchase badge, by chance did find out any more information on this. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Those are some great coin finds Squirrel, but I really like that Louisiana Expo medal, and the fact that you have the ribbon bar that goes with it.

You did great! the Grebe ac six was a early battery powered radio from 1928 or so.

Yeah, there is a Wikipedia page about the expo. It was a basically a worlds fair held in 1904.

Without a doubt, that Missouri State building badge from the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition is your best find. the building was destroyed by a fire shortly before the exposition came to a close and was never rebuilt. Awesome find!

Great job on the finds, congrats! :occasion14:

Way to work it! This is proof that we are not getting all the goodies in those sweet spots. We just can't detect deep enough. I love finding spots like that where they break ground. Grats on all the nice finds.

Yeah I totally agree. They had marked the spot for the amphitheater last year. I detected the location a couple times. The coins I found after they broke ground must have been masked under years of litter. The Walker was actually in clay so it may have been pretty deep.
