I received an e mail this morning from paypal saying they will keep my received payments for 21 days before they let me have it. But I am supposed to ship the item. The e mail looks legit and seems like it is from paypal. Did anyone else get this e mail? Its even sent directly from them.

Update.
This appears to be true I logged on and there was a pink banner at the top saying the same thing. I have never had a problem with them before, never filed a dispute and so far have not been ripped off. I dont like the idea of them holding on to MY money for 21 days unless you get positive feedback (ebay only) or let them know the item has been shipped. I guess Im done with them. OK, rant over, Thanks for listenening.

I got the same email. I am wondering if it applys to other things, or if its only for ebay.

It was pretty Generic. It sounds like it applies to all things. I dont like the idea personally.

I got the same email today....maybe if we all start complaining they will change it. I mean come on, 21 days?! My paypal is tied in to my bank account. It's not like they aren't going to get their fees.... :dontknow:

Update: I sent a semi-angry email to paypal regarding this, I recommend everyone else does the same.

I could understand 7 days, but not 21. How much do you want to bet, because of this, paypal will go downhill and a new company will pop up and outshine them?

I know because of this I have moved all my funds back into my bank account and will not use them until they resolve it. I will send them a nicely worded e mail.

Go change your password with paypal ASAP.Its best never to go with those links and sign in. I get them all the time saying i need to reverify my acccount. also telling me to go claim my payment with paypal or to update my account using their link. Never NEVER trust those links. if you need to talk with paypay go to their sight ,that you have secured not nobody elses.
They look real but some are scammers & spoof sights, Just wanting to get you info to wipe you out
IF you have any questions with paypal call them. they have never left me hanging always answer my questions then
The reason they sometimes hold on to $$ from a sale is beacuse they want the buyer to happy with the sale and them not file a claim against you

PayPal may send you an email. If they provide a link, don't use it. Just go to the PayPal web site and sign in there to check for anything.

Good thing I am a computer guru, I know which links to click. But also the easiest way to tell a bank email is when they show your name and bank account number.

Such as "Hello John Doe, your Chase credit card ending in 0481 is almost due".

Those are 100% real. It's good to be careful, but it's super easy to spot a fake one.

Thanks for the tips. I logged on to paypal using paypals home page and there is a banner on the top saying what the email said. Im pretty sure its legit.

I have not found this email being sent to me and I have had a PayPal account for several years now.

In the past when I received questionable emails about my PayPal account I sent a email to spoof@paypal.com and would attach a copy of the email I received and would ask them to verify it as actually coming from them.

In most cases it did not, but I can guaranty if it did they will tell you one way or the other. Check it out. Rick :coffee2:

Here is the newest email update.

We're writing to let you know that starting today, funds from payments you receive
will no longer be placed in a pending balance due to payment holds.

What about money that’s still on hold?
You'll be able to withdraw money that's currently in a pending balance due to
payment holds within 21 days of payment (as long as there's no dispute, chargeback,
claim, return or reversal).

The money currently set aside may be available even sooner if we can confirm the
item was delivered or you received positive feedback on eBay.

Will my payments be held in the future?
We may continue to evaluate your account to determine if it's necessary to hold
payments again. If we determine that it's necessary, we'll email you.

If I find out that this Is the Problem!!!!! I will NEVER USE PAYPAL Again!!! I recently payed for a Chartermembership for someone and it still has not been Changed!!!!!! If I have to wait for three weeks to get a chartermembership I will Pay some otherway!!!! HH and if this is True You suck Paypal!!!!! Your possible Former customer CHUG!!!!

I got the same e mail yesterday. makes you wonder what the problem was. Did they have a breach of security on their side and we are the ones that had to pay for it? Either way I tam pretty much done with them. That was a little too weird for me. Or maybe they got enough nasty emails to change their policy.
