Went out for a quick hunt tonight and came back with a couple of buttons, a 1932 Wheatie and this strange item. Rang up in the button range (60's) so that why i dug it thinking it was another button. My son and I initially thought it was a locket of some sort but its obviously not that since it does not open. Any ideas? the first pic has the finds for tonight and you can use the wheat penny for size comparison.

Thanks

I'd like to see a pic of the back, a profile, and an end shot of the appendage. Judging by the front, it appears to be a Victorian pendant or charm with either a Moonstone or white quart stone. Is the center area a beveled stone?

:)

Thanks Breezie. Here are the pics requested. Sorry for the blurry ones but you should get the idea.

I wonder if it is an old magnifying glass that got cloudy?

Duggap is correct. After seeing both sides, it is a Victorian magnifying glass necklace.

Neat find :)

thanks Duggap and Breezie! I would have never guessed that. The lens is so cloudy you cannot see anything through it thats why I thought pendant.
