pendant?

went out last night by the cabin where we were staying the night. wasn't real hopeful since it is so dry, but went for a test run and came up with this item. i'm thinking it is a pendant of some sort? i was very pleased with it, i started searching an area i haven't hit very hard. this is about all i came up with, i quit because it was dark and the mosquitoes were fierce!

Definitely a pendant missing it's stone. Looks pretty old too, but not a precious metal. Very cool! Oh....and the other item is a PENNY........
