My father , who is now 77, found this as a child in his front yard. The back has .925 on it. I thought putting .925 on silver jewelry was more of a modern thing.

Might add, I found this today in an old box my grandfather had kept things in. When I showed my father he recalled finding it in his yard in the 1940’s.

Looks like a Jewish Star of David. Nice find for your Dad. .925 became a requirement for silver in the U.S in 1906 I believe.

Yeap, my guess was about 100 years ago.

Thanks guys for the information.

I think I’ll go back through records on his first childhood home and see who the owners were. Curious to know if it was a Jewish family.
The things we just throw in a box lol.

A very nice piece of jewelry.

Interesting that it has a cross on it too. I thought that was a Christian thing only. Maybe covering all your bases? :laughing7:
