After hand sorting a box of pennies, I broke down and bought a Ryedale machine. It came in yesterday and I broke it in. I also have a new way to get pennies. This week I started sending the drivers education teacher at my school out to get my pennies for me. He has to take kids out driving so why not send them on errands while they are out. He has picked up pennies all week for me.

Last night I put a batch through that he got me. It was $88.50 in hand rolled pennies. It came in those rolls that you buy at Wal-mart that are crimped on one end. They are used for those cheap rolling machines that they sell. I like those cheap machines because they send a lot of dimes in to the penny rolls. Out of $88.50, I got 1329 copper, 31 dimes, 17 Canadian, and 36 wheats. All that for a 15% copper content.

Next batch was a $20 batch of hand rolled from a credit union. 454 copper, 4 wheats, and 1 Canadian. That equals a 22.7% copper content.

Next batch was a $40 batch from another bank. All these were machine rolled. This batch produced 802 copper, 11 wheats and 5 Canadian for a 20% copper content.

I have $100 ready to go through the machine right after lunch and then I have to get out to buy my box of halves after lunch and I have to pick up some more pennies. I am really liking this Ryedale.

sounds like you will be paying for that machine in no time just with the extra dimes LOL. Also way to delegate authority- can you talk them into dumping for you too? HH Mark
