I have not seen a pence coin before, this sure is a pretty coin. Got it at a cellar at my old 1860's farm sight (still occupied) just feet from the old Model T key I found last year. Got a bunch of wheats during my first hunt in my yard (house built in 1915), oldest of which is 1941D, and another cool token "GOOD FOR 5 IN TRADE" "ADVERTISING KEENEY'S REFRESH MINTS." I also found this little bullet in my silver park. Coins at that depth (5 inches) in this park are 1895 I.H. and 1925 Merc...got a 1905 Barber within 10 feet of this little bullet at 7-8 inches. I know depth can determine little about age, especially when there is such a diff in weight, but I think it's worth mentioning. I do not own a micrometer...no idea on exact width...Thanks for lookin' and thanks for any info on the bullett!

Tom,
Your little bullet is the projectile from a 22 rimfire cartridge as evidenced of the diameter and "Tapered Heel" style. Without knowing the weight I can't make a guess if its from a 22 Short, 22 Long, 22 Long Rifle. If I had to guess I'd say it was 22 Long Rifle and not that old. If you can accurately weight it I'd bet it comes out close to 40 grains.
