In central AZ all the goodwill have a case where they price jewelry pretty high, and then a rack with $1-4 bags where they put all the junk jewelery. 80% of the jewelry i buy from GW come from the junk bags, I rarely find anything in the cases.

No kidding. Out of all the thrift stores close to me, Goodwill has the market on worthless stuff. It's very rare I find anything really good at my Good Will.

Here GW are the WalMart of thrift stores they adopted a schedule years ago where everything is on rotating tag colors, each week is a new tag color, anything over a month old is half off or $1 depending on the day, and every other saturday everything in the store is half off. they push hard for donations and spend a fortune on advertising. rhey drove most of the other thrift chains out of business, then jacked up their prices. If you want to find good stuff, you have to find the stores with pricers that miss things a lot. most stores scan all media for Amazon sales, and many send their gold and silver to GW's auction site. they turn over a high volume though with tons of new stuff daily, so go often and figure out the best stores. I rarely go to the closest store to me, but hit 2 others further away 4-5 times a week.

Well after saying I rarely go to the closest GW to my house, and I rarely find anything in the case, tonight i found zuni inlay earrings a navajo safety pin, and James Avery Tree of life necklace in the case at the closest GW, $16 out the door
