Cool find . I don’t know about an egg though.My guess is that it is not. Hard to tell if it’s a fossil or concretion of some type from a photo. River rocks often take round shapes and develop unusual patterns from water flow .
 

It looks like a little metal is in the bottom like and old encrusted fishing bobber where the prong would be?

It is a spiral.
 

It looks like a concretion that form around a mollusc ( snail ).
 

The spiral inside gives it away. Concretion. They are very frequently confused as fossilized eggs. Could be a snail shell fossil though.
