Pewter Button Helps Avoid the Weekend Skunk

Good quick hunt today with Lost Signal. Heat relented a little so we went back to the fresh field since its had a few rains and found a few interesting items. I found 2 buttons, one pewter that seems pretty old and another with a basket weave pattern. Also found a broken buckle and a couple of pieces of pipe that were surface finds. Happy to have the buttons after getting skunked all weekend.

I've found one pewter button with the cast stem intact, but it was badly decayed. And, together our group has found a few without stems. This one is in amazing condition, and so is the basket weave button. The soil in that spot is very kind.

Sounds like you two had a good time and alot of the fun even if you get skunked is digging every signal you never know what you may find like opening a Christmas present. Nice button finds. Tommy
