Hey guys,
I posted this under "what is it" and haven't gotten much traction so I figured I'd try here. While metal detecting along a river in Charleston, SC I starting turning up pewter buttons. 3 of the 4 are flat buttons until I found this one. It is marked "Royal Irish Brigade" on the front and Dublin around the shank. It is 7/8 of an inch in diameter and pewter. Anyone know anything about these buttons- rev war??

Around the shank has "BYRNE" + R + BRENAN+ "DUBLIN". Not 100% on R BRENAN part
