Hello. Relic Dude here. New to the forum. A nice day here in the Northeast so I went detecting near a couple of cellar holes. Found what turned out to be a couple of breeching loops, some buckles, and, this complete pewter rattail spoon. I have heard that rattails are usually found partial, not usually complete.

Would love to hear from other detectorists to see if this is true. Also, anyone know the style of rattail and the approx. age?

Thanks...Relic Dude

That seems true, I have found several broken pewter spoons, maybe they figured that the pewter was bad for them, so they broke them and tossed them away?
