Pewter Marble?

I took my brother in law out for his very first detecting
experience...... he's hooked.
His first signal was this pewter object. I thought it was
a musket ball, but it would have to be a 72 cal. AND
it's definitely made of pewter.
The second photo has my finds. 2 pewter button,
tombac and a brass buckle piece.
