Again, another of my favorite artists. Phil has been around for decades and always entertaining. I really miss him playing the drums too.

Anyway, this is a cover of Dylan's Time is a changing. No doubt Dylan is a great writer, but sometimes it takes another artist to bring out a better interpretation than the original. :tongue3:

He has too many great songs for me to pick a favorite. Off that same album I loved this one, has a little bit of an African rhythm to it.

I was lucky to see him play with Genesis and open for Jethro Tull at New York's MSG :headbang:

Gents,

Some nice tunes....since Spart misses his drumming.....here's a drum solo with Chester Thompson....good stuff!

I've watched several of his solos and duets, he's one underrated drummer. Too bad he can't play because of the pain it causes.

Oh, during his show at MSG, he started his drum solo, smoke billowed out of the set covering the stage, and all the while playing, they switched out and gave him garbage cans, then the smoke cleared :laughing7:

i do love me some collins. as a drummer, i can tell you he's DARN good behind a kit, too. waaay better than i am and i've been playing since '94. a phil collins concert was linked by a facebook friend. i clicked on it and saw it was over an hour long, and almost decided to click away. i ended up watching the entire thing, and i'm glad i did; that guy has real talent.

Skwerly,

Yeah and throw in the fact he'd often sing while drumming.....you can imagine the coordination required to do both at the same time....

Regards + HH

Bill

I still think he was his best when he was still with Genesis

and this was there best album. it only makes sense listening to it from beginning to end,
only downside the last couple minutes " Aisle Of Plenty" make me want to hear much more.

SOLO "in the air tonight"
