Heres one Id like some help with...

A little backstory, my girlfriends dad lost his gold wedding ring while out on the riding mower. They live on the opposite coast from me, but we have plans to visit next spring. I do plan on bringing my metal detector when we visit, but it'd be great if I had a leg up on where to start looking.... its a big yard. 40 acres are so.

Start by knowing the mowing pattern on the property. Good luck!

I live on 3 acres, it would be hard to cover half the grassy area without missing targets if you had a whole week to detect. Of course, it used to be a farm field so never was much anything metal to find.

First check of metallic targets in general, 2 ft or less deep.

Thanks! I'm sure 40 acres is an exaggeration, but still a big yard. Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to update next year after I get out there.

Does the size of the circle have any relation to the strength of the signal?

The old saying ..."Gold is, where you find it". In this case,it will be where the most traffic goes.

On this map YES.

Thanks, guys. Look what I found.

Thanks, guys.

I found the ring just to the right of the bottom right circle on Red_deserts dowsed photo.

I'm going to do another pass before I go. Will definitely check out these other targets.

Sense you are checking one other spot here.2017-11-30.webp

My circle was right next to RD's bottom right circle...this makes me happy to know that I was accurate (at least within a few of feet of the target)...absolutely beautiful ring btw...seriously...gorgeous. Nay Sayers of dowsing should be ware...you have just witnessed proof in action that dowsing is legit.

Yeah, thanks again guys. I've covered all the areas indicated a few times now. There's a lot of big iron and aluminum under there, a lot of it about 6 or 8 in down. I did find a survey marker upper left corner of the property. And a couple old oil cans and punch top cans buried here and there.

The property is pretty new. I think it was filled and leveled in the early 80s. Prior to that it was a summer escape starting some time in the 50s.

So far the only coins I've found were 2 1980 quarters.

Im late..

Yeah, abit. Thanks though. I'd say this round has ended.
But I met some great people and am hoping to return to the area someday soon.

So.... I have another.

A friend of the family has this late 1700's property, and the gentleman lost a gold bracelet in the field shown in the attached image.

Any takers? :)

There is a chance finding this bracelet will gain me permission to another property in a neighboring state with history of the earliest battles in the New England area. Now that would be amazing. I need to retire so I can do stuff I like more often. :)

1 other spot you might check, that it for me have fun good luck.2018-05-24.webp

Yellow mark at bottom of picture can be jewel
Yellow mark at top of picture can be garbage (electronic)
Blue mark can be coin or jewel
