We are up in Grand Marias in the upper peninsula of Michigan. A friend found this rock on the shore of Lake Superior. The rock is photo sensitive to UV light. After being exposed to the light from a VU flashlight it will continue to glow for a second or two. Anyone know what this is?

I have a short video of it but I don?t have a third party site to upload it to.

I was thinking you meant "photosensitive" in the sense that, like me, it doesn't like to get photographed because it's not particularly pleasing to the eye.

I read out of context.

I think the actual term i should have used is phosphorescence.

phos?pho?res?cence
/ˌf?sfəˈresəns/

noun
light emitted by a substance without combustion or perceptible heat.
"the stones overhead gleamed with phosphorescence"
PHYSICS
the emission of radiation in a similar manner to fluorescence but on a longer timescale, so that emission continues after excitation ceases.
