A friend told me about these. Said his dad found them years ago, somewhere in western Illinois. His dad wouldn’t tell anyone exactly where.
He sent me these photos so I could post them. He lived SE of the Quad Cities, but that’s no guarantee as to where he found them.

Those are dandies. I like the one on the left for it's full groove, or appears to be full, regardless, a dandy.
Contestant number two, the trough on the top was really nice and unexpected. Another dandy.

Your friend is fortunate to have them.

I hope to see them in person soon. The photos are impressive.
 

very nice.
the river flowing there has nice locations for early settlements.

I just passed through there recently and seen some great areas.

Thomas browner, past csasi librarian, was from davenport and had an amazing collection.

the tributaries allowed for settlements to flourish from early archaic to the mississippian times.
