Howdy folks,

I found this piece of rock when digging at a local toolworking site. It was found among lots of flakes, bifaces, and other incomplete artifacts.

The rock has a curvature to it, with both sides smooth. I don’t have much experience with soapstone so I can’t quite identify the material with full certainty. However, it does have a bit of a soapy feel to it and is softer than granite.

Could it be a broken piece of a soapstone bowl? Or is it just a geofact?

Thanks for lookin.
