I feel like I ask a lot of question about Pine Grove and its surrounding "villages" haha so i figured id centralize all of my thoughts.

-Does anyone know a general location of the old airport in Pine Grove (more specifically Suedberg I think) and if anything still stands i know it was once a restaurant/cafe after the airport closed.
-Any knowledge of the two buildings near Swatara State Park heading towards the indian town gap?
-Would the giant stone oven near the High Bridge damn be a good place to search?..it also looks like there is an old summer home or cabin on the way..similar to those near ft. indiantown gap.

This is how I got Started Learning the area.
Asking Alot of Questions.
And when I didn't get answers,
I liked I did my own Reserarch.

If you are speaking of the Iron Masters Mansion
at Swatara Furnace Yes
There used to be Big Picnics there
Regularly.

Airport Road Runs west off of Darkwood Road

2 buildings in Suedburg ?
or 2 Buildings Closer to Indiantown Gap ?

I will heed your warning and stay out.
Actually yes I do have several friends that have houses in between those two roads. All very large houses right along S. Tulpehocken one of my friend's house has hidden passages and crawl spaces all over the house..all in all i think i can get permission to hunt 5-7 properties in that general area..also there is an ?abandoned? home behind the st peters church at the end of town heading towards mcdonalds that might be worth an extra look..there is a privy on the very outskirts of the large cemetary (kind of near the questionable abondoned house)..an abondoned shack (dont think its too old though) off of longstretch road in oak grove.
Also I am VERY curious about the old barn and small marsh right next to the canal.

Would need

I am assuming that the green landfill building is abondoned..Ill have to talk to my pap and see what he says about the landfill one, he grew up in skunk hollow which isnt very far from there (this house is also very old and still family owned), he does a lot of business with the landfill and maybe he knows the right people. Hopefully the ground is still reasonably soft around thanksgiving. Thanks again Jeff for all of your insight and maps.

Do you find these houses through word of mouth or do you use the parcel locator usually? I try using microsoft live maps and the parcel locator but even when i know there is a house in the woods I either cant see it or am not really sure what i am looking at or for.

Sorry I Missed this part.

When looking on the Parcel Locator
& You see a Red Star in the Woods
Click on Identify Leased then Click on the Star.
This will Bring up places not seen from the air.

When using the Parcel Locator
go to the Left & Slide your arrow
down to the left of where it says streams.
to pull down more options.
you will see 2004 Arial
put a check in the box
this will Bring up Excellent Arial Views
With Property Lines Marked.

& The Zoom is Excellent.

Other Sources I use are Histories, Word of Mouth, & Memories

This is from a 1935 History

Not sure where the Cascades are,
But there is one behind this old Scout Cabin
in Swatara state park off the Old state road
It still stands & Has been Turned into a Pavilion
in order to prevent it from being torn down
