pink, burgendy, white and orange mineral, looks burnt?

I live near the Motherlode hills of California and these rocks are everywhere, they look like they have been burnt. I have found them in various colors, pink, burgundy, orange, white, and mixtures of all the colors. I found a picture that is almost identical from an ebay posting selling a mining claim, the details under the photo said 50K gold nugget found on claim. So I am assuming the mineral I have must be something special, they are absolutely beautiful!!

Thinking igneous bedrock with quartz through it. Pan the streams, but as to gold in those rocks, don't think so. Coastal range one million years old or less. Sierra Nevadas ten million years old. Don't know where you are...
