Pinpointing with the Quatro

Yes, basically the center of the coil. The Quattro actually pinpoints very well when using the stock DD-coil. I am able to use mine pretty well without a pinpointer.

As always, experiment.

The pinpointing runs down the whole length of the middle of the coil not directly in the center. Once you get a hit ; "wiggle" the coil over the spot moving it back toward you. Once the sound stops ; move back forward till the sounds just comes back. Note the spot. Continue to "wiggle" the coil back away from you till the sound just stops. Note the spot. It should be close to the first noted spot. This is also close to where the target is.

I also used the "wiggle" method when I had my Quattro. Very easy and accurate!

I have a Quattro too and I use the wiggle method. Just wiggle the coil towards you until the signal disappears and it will be at the 12 o'clock position, right at the top of the coil. The more you do it, the easier it is. I've found some great stuff with my Quattro and you will too. Now get out there and use it! :) Good Luck!
