Pipe Fitting???

I found this strange pipe fitting today at about 7" with the Tejon. In a very old part of town.

I have never seen one like it ?? Could someone please tell me what it was used for.

I think DrGrip has it. This is not exact, but very similar. There are many, many styles of old gasoline torches.
