Pirate ring??

I found this ring in St.Augustine Florida in an tidal area near the inlet. It was approx 16 inches down in an area that is closed to most people. I found little to no trash here and other items were old barb wire and an old coquina cornerstone. Anyone recognize the skull? I'm not sure but it rang as foil/nickel on my machine so the metal is unknown. Maybe pewter?

Attribution as a pirate ring might be difficult, but it is definitely a cool looking ring.

Yeah, probably a kids ring, .25 cents and a box top of some cereal and the kid got the ring.
